I am Emily, the owner of Emily Bridalwear in Sheffield, our little business has grown substantially since its humble beginnings back in 2008. Now a 7 figure business with a fantastic reputation, built on deep and meaningful relationships that we have worked tirelessly to create. I have incredible people who work for me and a consistent and loyal client base that sees my customers travel back 100s of miles to experience what we do.
The wedding industry is seen as “So good to work in…”. And while yes, that is the case, we have to always be the best version of ourselves and be “Disney” 100% of the time. That is on top of chasing enquiries, working until the early hours to sort everything and pretty much living and breathing it through the busy months as you know the dead season is coming.
You’re working so hard in your business, there is no time to work on it, or to see what else is out there.
This was me. I was just living in it.
I felt conflicted with competition that always looked like they were two steps ahead, frustrated that I just couldn’t get myself seen fully, I was constantly fighting fires and handling all the stuff that comes with running a shop, I had no time to actually enjoy what I was doing. I felt totally insignificant and out of control.
What I didn’t have the headspace for was to stop and think. I created this business, so I can change this business. I realised I had stopped being me, stopped moving forwards. I was stuck in the business of well, business.
I decided to change, evolve and start moving again and the first thing I did was I stopped looking outwards, stopped caring what everyone else was doing and focused on what was important to me. My why, my reason, my desire to build connections and deep meaningful relationships with people around me, my team, my brides, my family and my children.
What happened? We grew exponentially. With 30% growth year on year, we (yes we as I cannot do this without my entire team) never lose track of our why
I am not bragging when I say I know we are one of the best in the business. I know that, because I believe it, it isn’t because I am better than anyone else, It is because we are being the best WE can be, offering the BEST for our customers.

As part of the brides membership you get access to an experienced wedding planner, private Q&A with our suppliers, be part of a supportive online community and VIP events. AS well as much more which you can find on our brides pages.
For suppliers. I have worked in the wedding industry for over 14 years. The dream industry, the dream job – owning a wedding dress shop. So why does it feel so competitive and so bloody hard? Things have to change. I am not saying what I have planned is going to make you love everyday, but I think it will help on the days that aren’t so dreamy.
Everyone deserves opportunity to grow, and I have found a way to provide that for those in the wedding industry.
Together was born for more. More support, by working together. More advice by coming together. More experiences by sharing together and fundamentally more happiness by being around more people, together.
